Synopsis

  • If you died and came back, what would your art look like? After drowning and being found lifeless in the ocean, Matthew is resuscitated by strangers, but left paralyzed from the neck down. In response to this drastic life change, Matthew throws himself into his artwork exploring themes of mortality, meaning, and the limits of his own body. We follow Matthew’s progress as he pushes himself in rehabilitation to regain the ability to walk and even sets ambitious goals of returning to work as an ER doctor and surfing again.
