The Godfathers
of Hardcore

Directed by
Ian McFarland

Synopsis

Roger Miret and Vinnie Stigma are lynchpins of New York Hardcore (NYHC), and their band Agnostic Front played a key role in defining, shaping and establishing the sound and cultural code of conduct for the still-thriving movement. Unlike the dozens of bands that have come and gone, leaving their indelible footprint along the way, Agnostic Front are still going strong, 11 studio albums into their 30-plus year career.

Godfathers of Hardcore

I grew up on Northern California 80’s hardcore bands like The Dead Kennedys, Fang, Agent Orange and of course, Double Cross – my brother’s band. When the opportunity came up to work with Ian McFarland on his feature doc about the band, I jumped at the opportunity.

My mind went into overdrive bouncing back and forth between excitement and anxiety. On the one hand, I work great under pressure and on the other, this is Agnostic Front. I could never show my face at another show again if I didn’t absolutely kill it. I think it came out great.
