I was contacted by Mark and John to sound design their short Kayak Free Kayaking, and while I considered myself a composer, I needed the cash and was interested in the challenge.
Turned out that I really enjoyed aspects of the process. The ‘smoke in mirrors’ effect that sound can have on image, its ability to play up comedy and playing threshold between sound design and music were some of the properties I was immediately drawn to.
